Our Pastor

Hollow Creek Church Pastor, Steve Cartin

Steve’s pulpit and pastoral ministry began in 1986 when he was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by Parker Baptist Church in Panama City, FL.  Stationed at Tyndall AFB, FL as an Officer in the US Air Force at the time, he entered fulltime vocational ministry in 1992 upon leaving the military as a Captain after six years of prior enlisted service prior. Steve earned a BS in Astronautical Engineering at the University of Texas and a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has pastored churches in Colorado, Texas, Oregon, and South Carolina.  In cooperation with the North American Mission Board, Steve served as a Church Planter in Golden, CO and Eugene, OR.  He has been active in Associational and State Convention ministries and has served as the Chairman of the Budget, Finance and Audit Committee of the Executive Board of the SC Baptist Convention.  He serves as a Coach and Facilitator for Lead Like Jesus, has served as a writer and state representative for the Christian Medical and Dental Associations and as a writer for the online ministry, GotQuestions.org.

Steve and his wife, Sandra, live in Graniteville, sharing six children and eight grandchildren, all of whom live locally in the CSRA.  For Steve, the central verse of scripture for all God’s people is Isaiah 53.6 – “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”  As a personal mission, he identifies most with 2 Timothy 2.2 – “The things which you have learned and heard from me, teach to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
